On 8 September 2026 APTA members, partners and the public came together to mark World Physiotherapy Day. The day opened with a walk led by the Association’s leadership and a brass band, carrying the message that physiotherapy supports treatment and rehabilitation after stroke.
Members of the public then received free physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation advice, health education and referral at the community camp.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, APTA has used World Physiotherapy Day since 2021 to take physiotherapy services directly to communities across Tanzania. Over the past six years these camps have served more than 6,000 patients.
